Mint Choc Chip Smoothie

This smoothie is perfect as a balanced breakfast on the go, a satisfying snack or even as dessert. It’s packed full of fibre, has a good serve of protein and omega-3, and healthy fats to help better absorb the nutrients from the leafy greens and keep you satisfied longer.

 


Mint Choc Chip Smoothie


 

Serves: 1

Dietary: DF | GF | VEG | VGN 

 

Ingredients:

2 handfuls of baby spinach (or other leafy greens)

¼ cup packed fresh mint leaves

½ banana (fresh or frozen)

¼ avocado

2 tbsp hulled hemp hearts (and/or 1 scoop protein powder) 

1-2 cups unsweetened almond milk (or other milk of your choice)

Ice

1 tbsp cacao nibs or dark chocolate chips

 

Optional add-ins

1 date or 1 tsp honey/maple syrup



Method:

  1. Put all of the ingredients except the cacao nibs/chocolate chips into a blender and blend until smooth. 
  2. Add the cacao nibs or chocolate chips. Pulse for a few seconds to combine and partially break them up into smaller chunks, without completely blending them in.
