Pink Grapefruit & Rosemary Gin Fizz

Ya gal loves to sip on a weekend cocktail (or two!). What I don’t like are cocktails that a packed full of syrup, sugar and juice. Not only are they sickly sweet, but all of that sugar isn’t necessary and often not how the classic version of that cocktail is made.

I’m all about cocktails that use beautiful fresh ingredients and have no (or very little) refined sugars and are easy to make at home.

This Pink Grapefruit and Rosemary Fizz recipe is one of my absolute go-to’s. I even served it at my own wedding. It’s not too sweet, has a nice little savoury note of rosemary and the colour is oh-so-pretty.

Pink Grapefruit & Rosemary Gin Fizz

Serves: 1

60ml/2oz gin

60ml/2oz pink grapefruit juice (freshly squeezed if you can)

1 sprig of fresh rosemary, plus more to garnish

60ml/2oz tonic water, or soda water

slice of pink grapefruit, to garnish

  1. Crush the rosemary between your hands to release some of the oils and aroma.
  2. Pour the gin and pink grapefruit juice into a cocktail shaker along with the crushed rosemary sprig and a few pieces of ice.
  3. Put the lid on the shaker and give it a good shake for 30 seconds until chilled.
  4. Strain into a glass filled with ice and top with your choice of tonic water or soda water.
  5. Garnish with the remaining sprig of rosemary and the slice of pink grapefruit.

Make it Mocktail:

  • Simply skip the gin and top up with a little extra grapefruit juice or tonic/soda water.
