Easy Sesame Broccoli

This is my super tasty, super easy, sesame broccoli! ⁣⁣My favourite way to eat broccoli at the moment. It’s so yummy that I’ve even eaten a full plate of it by itself. ⁣⁣

 


Sesame Broccoli 


 

Serves: 4

Ready in: 15 mins

Dietary: GF | DF | VEG | VGN

 

Ingredients:

1 head of broccoli ⁣⁣

1 tbsp sesame oil ⁣⁣

1 tbsp soy sauce⁣⁣

2 tsp white &/or black sesame seeds⁣⁣

 

Method:

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. ⁣⁣
  2. Trim the end of the stalk of the broccoli and cut into large long pieces leaving the stalks on. I cut from the bottom of the stem to the base of the florets then pull apart through the florets with my hands to keep the florets fully intact.⁣⁣
  3. Blanch the broccoli pieces in the boiling water for 3 minutes until they only just start to become tender. You are only partially cooking them so you don’t want to let them get too soft. You can test this by piercing with a small sharp knife. ⁣⁣
  4. Heat the sesame oil in a non-stick frying pan or skillet over a high heat and add the broccoli pieces. Cook for a couple minutes on each side until you get a nice brown char. ⁣⁣
  5. Turn down to a medium heat and add the soy sauce and sesame seeds. Toss well to coat and remove from the heat. Serve and enjoy.
